I think Elon would want to remind people there's no way he deserves the
title of "racist", he has not successfully exterminated even one race.

How many people of color lost in space have you rescued so far?

As an American, Trump probably won't last that long.

He's going to be 79 in June and the average US male life expectancy is
75.8. The life expectancy of the average US 79-year old male - and less
than half of them survive to that age - is another 7.78 years, so 12
years is definitely optimistic

The relationship between Trump and Musk isn't exactly a healthy one, and
nobody would be surprised if they fell out.

And Trump's passion for tariffs isn't going to be great for
international trade or any national economy. American business has a
spent a lot on propaganda in favour of less government and less
regulation, but they aren't going to like it if they get it. The
Republicans talked about it a lot when they are out of office, but no
previous Republican administration ever delivered. Trump and Musk may be
unhinged enough to try to.

Lots of "fraud" is being uncovered, of course there aren't any charges
being filed against anyone because the Trump administration realizes
they don't fully own the courts yet, and they don't actually have anything.

If you look at presidents whose term of office started or ended in the
last 50 years and who have now died, they seem to have a much longer
life expectancy than the average:
Gerald Ford - 93 years
Jimmy Carter - 100 years
Ronald Reagan - 93 years
George H. W. Bush - 94 years

The US doesn't have the best health care in the world. It may have the
best that money can buy. if you can afford it, but the fact that the
practitioners charge for everything they do means that they do more than
is good for the patients.

Over-treatment is not ethical, but the doctors working out what
constitutes over-treatment do have in mind what keeps them financially
secure.

None of them were as fat as Donald Trump, and all of them seem to have
been better educated. Trump shares some of their advantages, but being
fat and ill-informed makes it unlikely that he will do as well.

For there to be twelve years of Trump and Musk, Trump has to make it to
91, and if he gets senile dementia as early as Reagan did he wouldn't be
interacting with Musk in any meaningful way, not that there's a lot of
intellectual content in their interaction now.

No doubt Trump and Musk's relationship will be longer than many expect,
other billionaire demagogues seem to be the only type of person Trump is
able to get along with and tolerate for any significant length of time.

But if and when he's served his purpose he will be written out of
history, perhaps not much different than how the families of the
half-million or so MAGAs who died from Covid write their relatives out
of history.

Killed by a DEI hire. Assassinated by a transgender athlete. Simply went
upstairs like Chuck Cunningham at the end of the first season of Happy
Days, never to be seen again.

Settle down Mr. Larkin I was trying to have a humorous discussion with

I know a guy who hangs out with Elon. That gives us three degrees of
separation to the President.

The guy had a prototype Cyberthing and I thought it was a crude mess
that would be improved in production. It wasn't.

Ya but think of how hard you'd be making the haters hate in a Cybertruck
in a city like SF!

You could get it wrapped in pink. and put ELON #1 FAN on the gate. and
you would be straight up _owning_ the libs in an environmentally
responsible manner.

I don't encounter hate here. Everybody is super nice in our
neighborhood and nobody talks politics or flies Palestinian flags or
anything. Maybe Irish flags on St Paddy's day.

Our toilet here at work broke a few weeks ago. A stranger wandered in
and we showed him around and he gave us the key to his downstairs unit
so we could use his bathroom. The bakery across the street offered to
let us use theirs too. That's typical, people helping one another.

You may not encounter hate, but you do seem to exhibit occasional
irrational hostilities. You label anything even vaguely socialist as
"Communist" and think that Donald Trump has "common sense".

That's not a safe place to be. When Covid-19 was killing lots of
American's, Trump managed to ignore all the advice about not getting
infected and caught it badly enough to put his life at risk.

Maybe it's the crudeness that appeals to Musk. He seems to be bonding
with Trump, which anybody with any taste and discrimination would find
difficult.

Nobody hates Donald Trump. People with enough sense to see him for what
he is do despise him,and would prefer to see him out of power, but
hating him would be taking him more seriously than he deserves.

Assassination would be a bad solution - when creeps like him get
assassinated their supporters find a replacement who is even creepier.

One can dislike the political system that put such a dangerous clown
into the top job, but the appropriate reaction is to reform the system
to get it closer to the more advanced models in use in most of western
Europe.
